2 Bedrooms • 1 Bathroom 1 Bath • Sleeps 1-4Soak in fresh mountain air as you sip your morning coffee on the deck surrounded by towering pines, or stay cozy inside by the crackling fireplace. Rust + Pine features a cozy, inviting layout and a prime location in Big Bear Lake’s Boulder Bay neighborhood—just a 2-minute walk to the nearest trails or catch the shuttle to Bear Mountain, Snow Summit, and the Village. Perfect for relaxation and adventure alike. A kind reminder that I just moved in and am updating the furniture. New Photos coming soon!
Driving up, you will notice the large driveway pad in front of the house and a second at street level, perfect for when it snows. As you exit the car, you will immediately notice the outdoor space, which is the perfect place to take in the fresh mountain air and just enjoy the fact that you are in the mountains. A fire pit anchors one side of the large deck while a table and chairs anchors the other. A propane weber BBQ grill is tucked around the side and ready for that nice ribeye or salmon!
When you are ready to head inside, enter the cabin to a large front room with a perfectly inviting gorgeous pine ceiling, and windows situated in such a way that bathes the cabin in natural light, fending off the need for electricity.
Kitchen: You'll first notice the fully renovated kitchen, complete with live edge countertops, touch activated appliances, and fun accent lighting. Whether cooking a daily meal or a holiday feast, the kitchen is well appointed for just about anything that you may want to whip up! A refrigerator, gas range, dishwasher and smaller appliances such as a microwave, toaster, hand mixer, crockpot, and coffee pot round out the kitchen. The cabin is stocked with the staples: coffee, tea, sugar, sugar alternatives, and cream at the counter coffee station and you'll find spices in the cabinet and condiments in the fridge. An alexa echo device can also be used to help with timers while cooking, or any other random information you need a third party to weigh in on. Four barstools surround the kitchen island, perfect for keeping the cook company or eating that amazing meal that you cooked.
Living Room: Turn to your right, you'll notice a large sectional couch that invites you to fall into it. It is that comfortable and with that fire going, you can lay there for hours just relaxing! After a long day of exploring Big Bear Lake, there is no better feeling than bundled up in a blanket on the couch listening to the crackling fire. The first bundle of firewood is included and pairs well with your family's favorite movie on the 50" TV mounted above the fireplace. A roku device will allow you to log into your favorite app and enjoy a movie or catch up on that favorite show.
Primary Bedroom: Follow the hallway to the right of the kitchen, and you'll find the bedrooms and bathroom. The primary bedroom has a queen sized mattress that is part memory foam, part coil, offering an option that is satisfying for those who appreciate a mattress on the firmer side, yet not so much that it is uncomfortable for those of us that appreciate a pillow top.
Step out into the hall in the morning and notice that your feet aren't cold. That hallway floor is heated to keep you toasty on your way to the shower.
Bathroom: The bathroom offers a full sized shower/tub combination, sink, and toilet. The rain showerhead has been extended to create a comfortable experience no matter how tall you are!
Second Bedroom: Between the Primary Bedroom and Bathroom, you will find the second bedroom. Enjoy the exercise equipment or lower the queen sized murphy bed for a wonderful slumber.
This cabin is as cute as it is cozy, and is the perfect blend of location, where mountain charm meets endless fun. You’ll be just moments from beautiful Boulder Bay, with the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain nearby for easy, carefree adventures. Wander through The Village for shopping, treats, and cozy mountain vibes, or pan for treasure at Gold Rush Mining Company Adventures—there’s always something to explore.
Love the outdoors? Amazing hiking trails are just steps from the cabin, perfect for morning hikes, peaceful nature walks, or sunset strolls among the pines.
When hunger strikes, you’re surrounded by delicious local favorites like Big Bear Mountain Brewery, The Bear Trap Taproom, and Pho Big Bear. It’s the perfect spot for guests who want a little bit of everything: lake views, good food, and big-time mountain fun.
Depending on your destination, you have a few options for transportation:
A car will always be your quickest and easiest bet, but I definitely understand wanting to park and leave the car. The bus system is not super robust, but does run around the city and Rust + Pine is 5-minute walk away from stop 403 (Lakeview Market). Check out the Blue Route.
